A SELF-taught artist who left school at 15 has amazed Wrexham AFC fans with her artwork depicting Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Meg Bellis, 22, of Buckley, has turned her talent for art into a career and was inspired by one of the biggest news stories in North Wales for her latest piece.

Meg, who shared a TikTok of her painting the piece, said she worked almost continuously over three days to complete the work after she was inspired.

The painting depicts Ryan in Wrexham's new green away kit and Rob in the traditional red. It also features the Ddraig Goch flag, Rob's show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Ryan's Aviation American Gin.

Meg said: "When I first heard that Rob and Ryan were going to takeover the club, it felt so weird. You wouldn't think something like that could happen. So since then I've had the idea in my head, and thought it was a good way of expressing my thanks to them. It's great that a small town here in North Wales is being recognised.

"Once I started it took me three days, I was working throughout the night and whenever I could. I had to get it done!"

"I've had quite a lot of love for it so far, which is nice. I was hoping everyone would love it as much as I do."

Unveiling the work on Facebook, Meg posted: "As a North Wales girl myself, as soon as I saw the news that Ryan and Rob were the new owners of Wrexham FC I’ve had this painting idea in my head. So happy to finally have completed my little vision, hope you all love it as much as I do!"

And on Instagram, she asked if Rob and Ryan would be her "besties".

There have been no offers to buy the painting yet, but some fans have suggested the piece should find a home at The Racecourse.

On Facebook, Andrea Gillingham said: "This is brilliant Meg. It should be hanging up at The Racecourse."

Meg has no formal art training beyond a GCSE in the subject, but in recent years has honed her realistic style.

She paints photos of footballers such as Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (her family are Everton supporters) and stars like Beyonce, Tupac Shakur, Freddie Mercury, and Bo Burnham.

As well as larger pieces such as the Ryan and Rob canvas, Meg works on commissions for portraits of people and pets.
