HOSPICE Care week was marked this year in the lighting of Denbighshire Leisure Buildings in green, to mark the work of St Kentigern Hospice across the local area.

Denbighshire Leisure Ltd say they were proud to light up their facilities for Hospice Care Week, an annual celebration and recognition of the incredible work of hospices everywhere.

Managing Director Jamie Groves added: "In view of the significant impact of the pandemic on many charities, it is particularly important that we raise awareness of the needs of our local hospices, who have continued throughout to deliver the highest standards of care for people and families at the end of life.

"St Kentigern Hospice based in St Asaph has been supporting the local area for more than 25 years, and like many similar organisations relies heavily on public support; using a team of volunteers to help with organising events, driving, working in charity shops and supporting nursing staff.

"This is absolutely vital work, and we would encourage everyone to join us in supporting National Hospice Week and also in recognising the year round contribution of hospices nationwide.”

Laura Ellis-Bartlett, Fundraising Manager at St Kentigern Hospice said, “We are thrilled that Denbighshire Leisure Ltd have worked with us to mark this special week in recognition of the work of St Kentigern Hospice. The Hospice has been open and supporting patients and families throughout the Covid 19 pandemic and we are always so grateful for the support of our local Community.”
