THE Denbigh and District Darts League recently returned after players spent a year-and-a-half away from competitive action at the oche.
March 2020 was the last time a dart was thrown in the league and so October 4 of this year was seen as a significant date in the local darting calendar as the league opened up its new winter campaign.
The reigning A-League champs The Masons A were given a bye week but their was plenty of top tungsten to kick off week one.
The Wingmen once again have high hopes of title success and crushed The Golden Lion A 8-1 in the new nine game format.
Dil Martin of the Wingmen hit a maximum in his tie, whilst Alun Wyn Jones notched a 180 for the Lionmen.
The Wings A started strongly with a thumping 7-2 derby win over The Wings B, and it was an opening defeat for the newly formed Salusbury Arms A of Tremeirchion as they were downed 5-4 on home turf by The Railway A.
Derry Morris chalked up the decisive fifth point of the evening for the Railwaymen whilst the home sides Dyfrig Davies grabbed the first ton + finish of the season with a great 118 out-shot.
