So what does it take to clinch the Wales in Bloom title of best town?
Last month, residents in Denbigh celebrated their blooming marvellous achievements in the prestigious competition, run by the Royal Horticultural Society, taking gold in the town category.
Explaining the work involved, Lyndsey Tasker gave a fascinating talk about Denbigh in Bloom to the October meeting of the Denbigh and District Probus Club.
She explained the extent of vital volunteer work that went into the floral displays and other projects that can only be successful on receipt of funding, donations and sponsorship.
The club was shown two five minute videos created by Steve Tootell which were used as the entries in this year’s RHS Britain in Bloom competition.
Keith Lester, Probus club secretary, said: "The videos illustrated how, what and where the Bloom Group operates highlighting community widespread involvement.
"In 2021 the planter numbers increased from 48 to 74 and it took two days to create the displays.
"Additionally 58 pots were delivered to local businesses that were rented from the group for the summer.
"The group look after the raised beds on both the main roundabouts and entrance borders at Trewen, Temple Bar Gardens, two red BT telephone kiosks and all the floral displays around the town."
