MORE than 6,300 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Wales.
Public Health Wales figures released on Monday (October 18) report that 6,398 new cases were recorded in the latest 24-hour period.
Of the new cases reported today, 837 were in North Wales.
Denbighshire had the most new cases of the virus - 188. Flintshire had 161 new cases while Gwynedd had 151.
The new cases of covid in North Wales can be broken down to:
- Denbighshire 188
- Flintshire 161
- Gwynedd 151
- Wrexham 140
- Conwy 126
- Anglesey 71
Sadly, a further 20 people have died in Wales in the latest 24-hour period having tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 28 days. 6,035 people in Wales have died after a positive test since the start of the pandemic.
2,235,723 people have now had two doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
The seven-day rolling infection rate in Wales as a whole is now 560.4 cases per 100,000 people. In North Wales, only the rate in Denbighshire is above the national average.
The infection rate is lowest in Flintshire.
