DENBIGH Harriers came back from the Flintshire 5k and 10k races with a haul of medals.

Running in the double races (5k and 10k) were Hayley Scott, Julie Roberts, Jessica Jones and Ian Jones, who was the runner-up in his age category.

Julie and Hayley both topped their age groups on the day.

Gillian Jones ran her first ever 5k race and it turned out to be a successful one as she finished second in the F60-64 class.

The course was an undulating one around the town with approximately 150 feet of ascent.

A total of 154 runners competed in the 5k event.

This was also the North Wales Championship 10k race.

Emma Collins, the record holder in the Female 55-60 and 50-55 categories, was first Harrier home.

Close on her heels was Mel Morris, while Fred Jones and son Paul Jones - in friendly, fierce competition - were next to finish.

They were followed by Menai Baugh, who was running her first 10k in nearly three years.

New member Hayley Scott was the next to finish, having run in the 5k as well.

Ian Jones and Julie Roberts, also having run the 5k, finished the 10k within seconds of each other and Jessica Jones finished the 10k triumphantly, having also competed in the shorter event.
