A MASTERCLASS for women is planned in the Vale of Clwyd throughout April.

The Midlife Flow, a wellness consultancy based in Ruthin, is launching a new online masterclass entitled ‘Thriving Through the Peri-Menopause to Menopause for women'.

Run by Ruth Astbury and Alwen Watkins, the Midlife Flow is on a mission to help as many women as possible thrive in midlife.

The menopause masterclass series, which starts in April, will inform, and deliver practical wellness advice on how women can navigate their peri-menopause to menopause transition.

The aim of the workshops is to help women understand that the peri-menopause to menopause transition isn’t just about the end of a woman’s reproduction life; menopause effects all parts of a woman’s body.

Lifestyle choices, stress management, movement and good sleep all play a part in how a woman experiences her midlife transition.

Ruth Astbury said: “A woman can enter peri-menopause as early as 35 years old, and peri-menopause symptoms often go undiagnosed.

"Typically, women in their 40s start to gain weight, experience a lack of sleep, frequent mood changes, suffer from anxiety and generally lose that zest for life.

"It doesn’t have to be this way. With good lifestyle management, nutrition and daily movement women can start to manage their health so that they age strong and well.

"The better health a woman enters her 40s the better they can manage this period and any potential menopause symptoms.

"We are offering a new programme for North Wales. It will include the latest research from specialists around the globe and an added walk fit programme for women to take away and start immediately.”

A number of free taster sessions are available so that women can get an overview of the masterclass sessions and ask any questions they may have.

The session, which will be introduced in both Welsh and English, is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday, April 5.

It will be a course overview and a chance to meet the team.

Masterclass series sessions will be held on April 13, 19 and 26.
