A SONGWRITER from Wrexham has been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of performing in a house dubbed the 'birthplace of The Beatles'.

The artist known as 'Dullan' has been unveiled as one of four acts who will visit, write and perform at Sir Paul and brother Mike McCartney's childhood home of 20 Forthlin Road, Liverpool.

“The Forthlin Sessions” will be filmed on June 17 - the eve of Beatle Sir Paul’s 80th Birthday.

The National Trust today this week announced the four acts chosen to play in the sessions, which launched with the aim of inspiring new generations of creativity through the story of ‘an ordinary house, in an ordinary street’.

Dullan was one of those chosen from hundreds of entries nationwide by a judging panel, including representatives of the National Trust, music writer, DJ and founder of Needle Mythology Records, Pete Paphides, and Paul’s brother Mike.

Sitting in the very same spots where around 30 of the world’s most famous songs, including ‘Love Me Do’, ‘Hold Me Tight’, ‘I’ll Follow The Sun’ and ‘When I’m 64’ were written and rehearsed, Dullan will get the chance to soak up the atmosphere of the house.

Talking ahead of the once-in-a-lifetime experience at Forthlin Road, Dullan said: "As someone who grew up playing and writing music, particularly with Paul McCartney as a primary influence, it is an incredible opportunity to have just a small part of his music’s legacy.

"Not only is this a tangible way of honouring that influence he has had for me personally, it’s also great to share this with other UK musicians."
