WEATHER presenter and Wrexham AFC fan Ruth Dodsworth is heading down to Wembley to support the Reds on what is her birthday weekend.

Back in January, Reds fans spotted the ITV presenter among the away fans down in Yeovil.

Ruth's Twitter page shows she's been following the Reds for a while, and it's all down to her new husband, Rob, who she married last year.

Now, the mother-of-two is set to join thousands of other Wrexham fans down in Wembley for the FA Trophy final on Sunday, May 22.

And Ruth will be hoping the Reds can lift the trophy which would make it a double celebration weekend for her, as she also marks her 47th birthday on Saturday, May 21.

Speaking to the Leader, Ruth said: "We're heading down on Friday because I've managed to convince the newsdesk that I will absolutely need to do the weather from Wembley on Friday!

"We're making a weekend of it as it's my birthday, best present ever!"

Ruth added that, at first she was 'worried' that her support for Wrexham would be seen as her 'jumping on the bandwagon' following the takeover of the club by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

However, she says that the fans have been 'so incredibly welcoming' towards her.

She added: "I have been a default fan via my husband for a few years now. He's a lifelong supporter and a Connah's Quay boy."
