THE tragic stories of three women in North Wales is the topic of a new novel.

Linen and Rooks is the first novel from the pen of author Sharon Tyers.

The novel is set in Denbigh and it tells the story of three women who live in three different centuries.

However, their tragic stories become interwoven in a house they 'share' in the town.

Denbighshire Free Press:

The story opens at Lleweni, where in the 1800s a Bleach Works was built and linen from Ireland was bleached.

Linen and Rooks also includes references to cholera arriving in the town in 1830 and the building of the North Wales asylum.

Sharon said: "I held a book launch at Denbigh Library on Wednesday, June 8 and signed books and read extracts from the story to a large, enthusiastic audience.

"Awareness of the book is growing in the area and is now being stocked by independent shops and book stores across North Wales.

"Today I heard that the Welsh Book Council intend to distribute it too."
