AN elected Vale of Clwyd representative has taken a tour of anti-social behaviour hotspots in a town.

Denbigh Lower councillor on Denbighshire County Council Mark Young has been participating in Anti Social Behaviour Awareness Week.

At the start of the week, Cllr Young donned his hat as the chair of Denbigh Youth Project to accompany hard-working local PSCO Bryn Jones to some recent anti-social behaviour hotspot areas in Denbigh.

Denbighshire Free Press:

"While out, we were able to speak with residents about the impact on them of this unacceptable behaviour, but it was encouraging that they are saying it’s improved greatly recently so well done all and let’s keep it up!" said Cllr Young.

Running from July 18 to 22, ASB Awareness Week aims to encourage communities to take a stand against anti-social behaviour and highlight the actions that can be taken by those experiencing it.

It is organised by Resolve, the UK’s leading anti-social behaviour and community safety organisation, and involves councils, police, housing associations, local charities, community groups and clubs.

This is crucial for successfully tackling anti-social behaviour, stressed Cllr Young.

"The youth project and North Wales Police are working together and a further meeting with other key partners, including engaging with young people, will be taking place soon with the ambition of improving the situation for our community in the short and more importantly long term."
