AN INCREASED police presence is set to be introduced following anti-social behaviour incidents in Llangollen.

That comes in a week where North Wales Police are highlighting the issue of ASB in the local area.

Across North Wales, officers have been highlighting work already underway to tackle ASB, while conducting high visibility joint patrols with partner agencies, visiting targeted areas.

But warnings have seemingly fallen on deaf ears in the Llangollen area, particularly during the recent heatwave.

As a result, NWP are set to ramp up patrols in the area.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are aware that Llangollen has been extremely busy over the last week with visitors flocking to the town to enjoy the beautiful weather.

"Unfortunately, going hand in hand with that has been some reports of anti-social behaviour.

"As a result we have have arranged some additional resources over the coming weekends to provide a high visibility police presence in the town. Hopefully, the increased police presence will provide some reassurance to the local community and local businesses."
