WREXHAM AFC has issued an update on the work to redevelop the Kop. 

Plans for a new 5,500-seater Kop stand are well underway, with Wrexham Council having already agreed planning permission to demolish the originating site. 

Last month, the club revealed the proposed design for the stand.

And supporters who attended the friendly versus Macclesfield on Saturday will have been excited to see the start of the groundwork for its demolition.

Fencing is going up in front of the old terraced stand, and per the agreed schedule will be complete by the time they kick-off the league season against Eastleigh on Saturday August 6.

Also on show for the first time on Saturday was the new scoreboard in the University End, as well as the new accessible platform in the Wrexham Lager Stand.

Extensive works have also taken place in the Directors Box, as well as the players area in the Wrexham Lager Stand – which are scheduled to be fully completed for the start of the league season.
