A FILM that was shot in Wrexham is set to be screened at Focus Wales this week.

The Almond and the Seahorse’ will screen Friday, May 10 at 7pm, as part of the FOCUS Wales Film Festival at Coleg Cambria’s new theatre.

This year the FOCUS Wales Film Festival has secured a prestigious BAFTA Cymru-accreditation, meaning that every film screened in competition in Wrexham, is now eligible for a Welsh BAFTA nomination.

As well as the screening of the film, the director and star of the film, Celyn Jones will be in attendance for a question and answer session after.

Part of the film was captured in Wrexham back in 2021, and with Odeon not showing the new release, the festival is the only place to see the film in Wrexham.

The film also features Hollywood star Rebel Wilson, who confessed her love for the Welcome to Wrexham docu-series last week.

The full programme for the film festival is now live at http://focuswales.com/film
