WITH August raising its head next week, today's set of pre-season friendlies take on an important aspect for local football clubs.
Bala Town are on their travels over the border.
Colin Caton is taking his side to the Ewen Fields Stadium this afternoon to face Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit Hyde United.
Kick-off will be at 3pm.
Elsewhere, after a series of matches versus top flight opposition, Denbigh Town will play host to Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League Division One side Llanrwst United.
This will be the first opportunity for the new-look Denbigh team to play a fixture on their Central Park ground, following matches at Newtown, Corwen, Brickfield Rangers and Bala Town.
Llanrwst will provide Denbigh with a tough test, having finished in the top-four of the Welsh Alliance last season.
With only a fortnight to go before the start of the Huws Gray Alliance season, joint Denbigh managers Dewi Llion and Matty Jones are keen to see how their new recruits perform in front of a home crowd.
Kick-off at Central Park is 2.30pm.
