HYDE UNITED 0, BALA TOWN 2

THERE'S definitely a case to be made for the defence!

Bala Town have kept their fourth consecutive clean sheet.

The Lakesiders haven't conceded a goal since the first half of their UEFA Europa League tie at Tre Fiori and they maintained their good pre-season run with a 2-0 triumph at Hyde United.

Both goals came prior to the half-time whistle.

Andy Mangan broke the deadlock with his first goal for the club in the 29th minute.

Good work from Henry Jones set up Mangan, who beat a United player and then lobbed the keeper from distance.

Ian Sheridan slotted home Bala's second goal six minutes shy of the interval.

Steven Tames, Mangan and Chris Venables had chances to extend the advantage in the second period, while goalkeeper Ashley Morris pushed one Hyde effort against the post.
