ONE in and one out.

That's been the story of the week for Bala Town ahead of this weekend's big Welsh Premier League kick-off.

While there was positive news on Monday as the Lakesiders snapped up Danny Gosset, Bala have since lost the services of striker Andy Mangan.

The former Wrexham frontman has signed for Football League outfit Accrington Stanley.

"We could have stood in his way, but it's a big thing to play in League One," admitted Bala boss Colin Caton.

Looking ahead to the new Welsh Premier League season, Caton added: "Well, we can try to be right up there, but being honest it's going to be difficult, with training one night a week.

"If we can push TNS and Connah's Quay, it will be fantastic.

"We need a lot of luck in terms of injuries and that.

"The target is just to get into the top six as soon as we can.

"That is everybody's aim.

"You know if you're in the top-six you've qualified for Europe or you're in the play-offs."

Bala will begin their campaign at home to Carmarthen Town this Friday (7.45pm).

"Carmarthen will be very tough," said Caton.

"It's going to be tough and they are really strong because they have a massive catchment area.

"But every game will be tough in this league."

Caton says he has strength in all positions this year.

"We have strengthened in the full back areas and then in midfield, with Henry Jones and Danny Gossett signing," he added.

"Attacking wise, I am happy with what we have got.

"We are just going to go with what we have got at the moment.

"The window closes at the end of the month and we will keep on top of it.

"It's the best group of lads playing wise and personality wise I have ever had."
