LLANGOLLEN 79

CARMEL 83-1

LLANGOLLEN must be sick of the sight of high-flying Carmel!

Six days after the sides met, there was another Division Two meeting, this time at Tower Fields.

Once again, it was the Flintshire side who came out on top, although Llan did pick up a point from their efforts.

Carmel won the toss and they elected to bowl first.

This proved to be a sound decision, with the 10-man hosts being bowled out for 79.

The star men with the bat were opener Arthur Jenkins (37 not out), Bryn Sheppard (13) and Harry Paton (11).

Daniel Davies (1-6) picked up a wicket from the first delivery of the Carmel innings, but that was to be Llangollen's only bright spot.

Dafydd Bailey (42 not out) and Steven Jones (24 not out) led the visitors to a winning 83-1 in the 18th over.
