CUTTING out the goals that are being conceded.

That's the target of Bala Town boss Colin Caton ahead of another tough Welsh Premier League test this weekend.

Heading to Maes Tegid on Saturday are newly promoted Llanelli, who have made a decent start to life back in the top flight.

They have lost just once in three games since an opening day 7-0 hammering at home to Connah's Quay.

Bala will be aiming to continue their unbeaten start at home and Caton said: "Llanelli will be really well drilled and they have drawn against Barry, who are the best team we have played."

While the Lakesiders have done well at Maes Tegid, they are still waiting to pick up a point away from home.

"Our away record last season wasn't the best and we have got to improve on that," added Caton.

"We have got to be picking points up away and we are letting in too many goals.

"If we don't sort that out, we could be in trouble."

Bala's latest contest was a 2-0 reverse at Newtown last Saturday.

"It was an interesting weekend with a lot of shocks and we didn't defend well on the day," said Caton.

"It's a really good league and everybody's been through the coaching education with the FAW.

"Everybody's got access to every game, now.

"It is making the league better."

Kieran Smith is likely to be out with a hamstring injury, while Chris Venables and Evan Horwood are both unavailable through suspension.

On a more positive note, Bala duo Henry Jones and Steven Tames have both been nominated for the Welsh Premier League's August goal of the month competition.

An outrageous piece of skill from Jones set up Tames' goal versus Carmarthen, while Jones himself is on the shortlist for his fine winning strike against Cefn Druids.

In further good news, the club is pleased to announce that Conall Murtagh has re-signed for the Lakesiders.

Central midfielder Conall has put pen to paper with Town as a back-up to the squad and he will feature whenever possible around his work commitments as a first team fitness coach at Liverpool.
