BRO Cernyw moved up to fifth in the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One standings with an impressive 3-1 success at Cerrigydrudion.

The visitors picked up their third triumph of the campaign against the early basement dwellers, but despite the eventual result it was the home side that drew first blood when Tirion Griffiths found the net after the break on 53 minutes after a cagey opening to proceedings in the first period.

This finally seemed to spring the visitors into life, and they got back on level terms soon after when Rhion Morris converted an opportunity after an improved spell of possession after 65 minutes.

Things got even better for the away side soon after when Sion Jones put them in front for the first time in the clash on 74 minutes, and they took advantage of some gaps in the Cerrig defence late on as they pushed for a leveller when Morris notched his brace with 83 gone to confirm the three points.

Bro will look to take this positive momentum into next Saturday’s JT (Charlie) Jones Presidents Cup first round tie at Division One side Penrhyn Bay Dragons, who come into the contest on the back of a 7-1 victory at Betws-y-Coed.
