LLANNEFYDD 4
PWLLHELI 1
BATTLING Llannefydd had to come from behind to secure their spot in the next round of a knockout competition.
Llan entertained Pwllheli over the weekend in the first round of this season's Take Stock Van Hire Challenge Cup.
The visitors had the advantage at the interval courtesy of Iwan Roberts' 25th minute strike.
Back came Llannefydd in the second half, though, and they were level in the 54th minute when Tomos Jones' penalty continued his rich vein of scoring form.
Two goals in the space of just two minutes saw the villagers take control of the tie.
They went in front via Ed Jones' strike in the 70th minute and this was swiftly followed by a Jared Jones goal.
Llannefydd made sure of their progress when Tomos Jones bagged his second goal of the afternoon with 10 minutes left to play.
The man of the match was Sam Benbow.
