THERE were a number of familiar faces among the top scorers during week two of the Denbigh Golf Club's winter league.

The best card of the week was put together by Eric Howells, with a magnificent haul of 43 points off his handicap of 12.

In second place - and first in the bronze division - was Jon Roberts with an excellent score of 42 points.

On 41 points was J D Roberts, who was the runner-up in the bronze division.

Meanwhile, the silver division was extremely competitive and it culminated with George Williams (41 points) just outscoring Nigel Morris (40 points).

A total of 150 cards were submitted during week two and 37 members scored in excess of 36 points.

At this early stage of the winter league season, the lead is shared between Llew Davies and George Wiliams with 20 points apiece.

However, there will undoubtedly be many twists as the competition progresses.
