RUTHIN LADIES 2

PENLLYN LADIES 0

RUTHIN Ladies' fine winning run continued over the weekend with a brilliant 2-0 victory versus Penllyn.

The Gwynedd side went into the tussle boasting five wins out of five in Division Two of the North Wales Hockey League.

However, Ruthin started strongly and they dominated play from the off.

The positive play was rewarded when Eleri Jones set up Llio Thomas up for a clinical strike at the top of the D to break the deadlock.

Ruthin remained in control after this, disrupting Penllyn's play and preventing them gaining any momentum.

Fflur Iorwerth cut out Penllyn’s attacking play, with support from Jess Ennever and Llio Jones.

The Vale side extended their advantage when they were awarded a penalty corner.

Claerwen Render slipped the ball past Penllyn’s keeper from the set piece to make it 2-0.

Catrin Roberts and Eleri Jones were the star players for the hosts.

Ruthin would like to thank Richard Hackett for his coaching, all the supporters who cheered the teams and the Feathers for providing after-match teas.
