DINBYCH 2NDS 11, FLINT 13

A NARROW loss in a game they should have won.

That was the story of the weekend for Dinbych 2nds following their WRU League Division Three (North) meeting at home to Flint.

The forwards dominated at scrum time, forcing Flint to retreat throughout the match, while number eight Dave Roberts gave a man of the match performance as he turned over possession on a dozen occasions.

Unfortunately for the hosts, they conceded too much possession and territory with penalties awarded for ill discipline, which undid much of their good work and allowed Flint off the hook.

Playing down the Graig slope in the first half Flint, built up a lead through two penalties and a converted try.

Dinbych managed to keep in touch thanks to two penalties from centre Ben Reed which left them trailing by 13-6 at the interval.

Dinbych claimed the only score of the second half courtesy of a Ben Reed try in the corner after a long break by wing Finlay Jenkins.

Unfortunately, Reid's conversion attempt from the touchline drifted just wide, which denied Dinbych a draw.
