WEEK eight of Denbigh Golf Club's winter league saw a total of 114 members participate.

Despite some indifferent weather, the scoring remained fiercely competitive.

The weekly winner was Robert Davies with 42 points, while runner-up Peter Howland was just one point behind.

The silver division was won by Adam Houston with 39 points and a point behind in second place was Marc Shaw.

David A Jones won the bronze division with his haul of 40 points, a score which has seen him rocket up the league into sixth place.

He is now just nine points behind the current leader.

Second in the bronze division was Ian A Jones.

To date and in a fiercely competitive league, no individual has managed to hold on to the lead for consecutive weeks.

The leader after the week of action was Marc Shaw with 45 points, three clear of Darren Foulkes and four ahead of George Williams.

Paul Mazurek, a leader only two weeks earlier, slipped down to fourth position with 38 points, one clear of Mr consistency, Elwyn Thomas.

In the chasing pack there are a number of seasoned campaigners and there is still a long way to go.
