BANGOR City player-manager Gary Taylor-Fletcher has strengthened his squad with the signing of Jamie Menagh.

The talented midfielder joins the Huws Gray Alliance title chasers in time for their derby clash with Holyhead Hotspur at the VSM Stadium on Friday night, and the Citizens’ boss is no stranger to the playmaker having seen him come through the youth ranks at Blackpool.

The 25-year-old was on the verge of signing a two-year deal to join Stoke City when manager Tony Pulis was sacked in 2013. Instead, after a spell with Prescot Cables, he joined Chester, where he was an instant hit scoring twice on his debut.

After a loan spell with Marine which became a permanent move, he went on to play for Witton Albion before following his former Chester boss Neil Young to Stockport County and then Altrincham, before joining Airbus Broughton.

Taylor-Fletcher, said: “I remember him as a young pro at Blackpool. What stuck with me was his hunger to win in everything that he did.

“Along with that he is a very talented young player that will bring something different to the team.

“I am really pleased we have got it done and cleared ahead of Friday’s game.”
