AN away derby reverse marked the weekend for Llangollen Town Reserves.

The lads from Tower Fields made the trip to Cefn Mawr Rangers Reserves in Wrexham Area League Reserves / Colts Division action, with the hosts running out 5-0 winners.

Gareth Lewis, Kyle Cooper, Ryan Williams (2) and Callum McRae struck for Cefn Mawr.

ALTHOUGH they weren't in action, it still turned out to be an excellent Wrexham Area League weekend for Corwen.

Their Premier Division contest with basement outfit Lex XI was called off, but Corwen's title hopes still received a major boost.

That's because Queen's Park blew the Premier Division title race

wide open with a convincing 4-1 home win over out-of-form leaders Brymbo.

Josh Bettley handed Park the lead at the break, but Brymbo hit back through Ryan Clarke immediately after the restart.

Queen’s Park were not to be denied the win that moved them level on points with Brymbo, however, as Bettley, Corey Smart and Matty Wills scored.

Corwen trail the duo by two points, but they have a game in hand over Brymbo and four games in hand over Queen's Park.
