TWO undefeated heavyweights of the Denbigh and District Darts League clashed in the latest round of matches.

It proved to be a quality week of arrow chucking in the darting calendar.

Reigning champions Masons A took on fellow frontrunners the Wingmen, with both having unblemished winning records ahead of the big encounter.

The Masons men were reeling at the midway point as the Wingmen took a 4-0 lead.

Mark Webster got Masons A on the board when he took the fifth game of the night.

However, there was to be joy for the Wingmen in the sixth game of the evening.

Captain Dave Cooke fought to a 2-0 victory over Eifion Hughes to give his side victory and condemn Masons A to a first loss of the campaign.

However, in true Masons fighting spirit, the A team grabbed the last two match-ups of the evening for a final scoreline of 5-3.

The match was full of personal darting quality, with Danny Tinney hitting a 14-darter, while Rich Martin grabbed a maximum and Dil Martin took out a 123 finish for the Wings outfit.

For the Masons, Steve Gierke plundered finishes of 101 and 104 in his match.

Wings A are very much in the hunt for the league after another big win.

They hammered Masons B 7-1, with form man Sion Watsham hitting a 15-dart leg and a 100 finish.

Elsewhere, Railway A defeated Golden Lion B 7-1, while Kinmel Arms A beat the Hand Inn A 6-2.

Wonderful Wings B continued their impressive B-league campaign with another victory, this time against White Lion B.

It finished up 7-1, with Mike Wills hitting a 180.

Golden Lion C lost ground on Wings B after only being able to draw 4-4 with the Plough Inn.

The same result was fought out between White Lion A and the Cons Club, with Cons man John Jones hitting a 112 checkout.

In further action, Railway B picked up a handy 5-3 victory over the Llindir Inn.
