RHOS 22

DINBYCH 2NDS 25

DINBYCH 2nds gained a Division Three (North) double with a bonus point victory over Rhos in a match where the scoring changed hands several times.

Vital factors were the scrummaging of a hard working Dinbych pack against bigger opponents and the controlling influence of the experienced Llion Edwards at outside half.

Playing with the advantage of a stiff breeze at their back, Rhos took the lead after a quarter-of-an-hour with an unconverted try.

Dinbych levelled things up 10 minutes later when number eight Jonathan Morgan went over for an unconverted try following a short range maul.

The visitors then took the lead with a solo effort from inside centre and skipper Tom Evans, who chipped ahead and re-gathered twice before touching down for an unconverted try.

Rhos replied just before the interval with an unconverted try to leave the scoreline tied at 10-10 at the interval.

Rhos regained the lead immediately at the start of the second half when their second row fielded the restart kick and ploughed through the Dinbych defence for an unconverted try.

However, Dinbych responded well with centre Andrew Wilson going over for an unconverted try after a solo run.

Dinbych then took the lead when wing Shaun Spencer pounced on a handling error to go over.

Rhos regained the lead when their outside half side-stepped his way over for a try, which was converted by the only successful kick of the game.

Trailing by two points, Dinbych won the match when full back Tom Wynne crossed for an unconverted try after he broke through from broken play on the Rhos 22.
