PENRHYN BAY DRAGONS 5

HENLLAN 3

THE Dragons' fire was too much for Henllan to contend with over the weekend.

Targeting a victory to strengthen their hopes of a top-two finish in Division One of the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League, Henllan were eventually defeated 5-3 by Penrhyn Bay Dragons.

Three goals in the opening quarter-of-an-hour put Penrhyn Bay Dragons in control of the clash.

Jack Carey (2) and Morgan Groom had the hosts in the box seat.

Henllan pulled a goal back through Dan Williams shortly prior to half-time, while they were right back in the contest when Neil Davies made it 3-2 after 10 minutes of the second period.

However, the Dragons weren't prepared to be denied and strikes from Morgan Groom and Jack Lidgett extended their advantage.

David Wilkins' penalty gave Henllan their third goal in the closing minutes.
