ST ASAPH CITY RESERVES 1

LLANELWY ATHLETIC 4

LOCAL bragging rights belong to Llanelwy Athletic.

There was a city derby as St Asaph City Reserves took on Athletic in the semi-finals of the REM Jones Cup.

A 4-1 margin of victory saw Llanelwy Athletic through to the final and it keeps alive their hopes of a league and cup double.

Dan Price handed Athletic the lead after a quarter-of-an-hour, but this was quickly cancelled out by Steve Falvey's equaliser soon after.

The first half would witness one further goal and it would go in Athletic's favour, with Ash Hughes on target three minutes prior to the break.

Llanelwy's final spot was effectively sealed when Dan Price scored his second goal of the afternoon in the 73rd minute, while James Burke added his side's fourth goal just three minutes later.

Llanelwy Athletic will meet Rhos United in the final.
