DENBIGH TOWN DEVELOPMENT 3

LLANFAIRFECHAN TOWN RESERVES 2

TWO golden oldies ensured Denbigh Town Development ended their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One season on a high with a home win over Llanfairfechan Town Reserves.

Denbigh picked up their second success in 20 outings this term and it was the presence of a pair of well-respected veteran players that played a huge contributing factor in their victory.

The home side got off to an impressive start and they went ahead on 25 minutes when former Denbigh Town senior squad member Jonny Slater finished well.

Slater enjoyed a fantastic career for his hometown club before a serious Achilles injury ended his time with the squad.

The visitors got back on level terms in first half stoppage time when Harry Coston found the net, and the same player was on hand to notch his brace early in the second period to put Llanfairfechan ahead.

This was met by an instant response by the hosts, who levelled on 57 minutes through David Webster, and the cultured midfielder fired in his second of the contest with 12 minutes remaining to decide the contest.
