THE Lakesiders are looking to go fourth!

A busy few days are in store for Bala Town and team boss Colin Caton is challenging his players to finish in the top-four of the JD Welsh Premier League this season.

Bala play host to league leaders The New Saints tonight (Wednesday), while Barry Town United travel to Maes Tegid on Saturday.

"They are top-three teams," said Caton.

"TNS only beat us narrowly the other week and they have only beaten us once this season.

"They are chasing the title again, but there's pressure on us to get as higher place as possible.

"We will be out to win the game.

"Fourth is our target and that will give us a home draw in the play-offs.

"Barry have pretty much qualified for Europe and we will try and get a home draw in the play-offs."

Positive news has arrived at Maes Tegid over the last week, with midfielder Chris Seargeant joining from The New Saints until the end of the season.

The former Everton Academy player has been a pivotal figure with The New Saints for the last decade.

With over 200 appearances in total, Seargeant has won the Welsh Premier League on eight occasions and picked up the Welsh Cup four times.

Seargeant will wear the number 23 shirt for Bala.

"Chris Sargeant will bring goals, creativity and quality to link up with the quality we have got," added Caton.

In addition, midfielder Rob Pearson has penned a new deal with the club for the 2019/20 season.

Kieran Smith will return from suspension for this weekend's Barry match, but injury victims Rob Pearson and Steve Tames are unlikely to don a Bala shirt again this season.
