PRESTATYN CELTIC 3

DENBIGH TOWN U-15s 4

A TOP versus bottom of the table clash saw Denbigh Town Rhinos U-15s snatch a last gasp 4-3 victory from struggling Prestatyn Celtic, with Jake Roberts smashing a hat-trick.

Two cute back heels saw Denbigh establish a two-goal lead.

The first was created by virtue of a clever back heel from Finn McCoole, who converted a raking ball from the excellent Callum Jones-Davies to present Jake Roberts with the chance to sweep into the net.

The next was the deftest of touches from Iwan Moores to send Roberts away again and slot home for number two.

Celtic were rewarded for their efforts when Jake Jones could only turn a lobbed effort onto the bar and back into the path of an unmarked attacker.

Moores restored Denbigh's two-goal advantage by drilling home James Thomas' dangerous cross, however Celtic came roaring back.

With nine minutes remaining, a superb volleyed effort gave Jones no chance and six minutes later, they were level.

Gethin Rogers went on a great solo run and he set up Moores, but the ball somehow stayed out.

Celtic broke and keeper Jones was again forced off his line to clear his lines, but his header was met by a Prestatyn player, who lofted ball over him and into the unguarded net.

The shell-shocked visitors picked themselves back up and Roberts beat three defenders before coolly slotting past the keeper for his 14th of the season.
