PRESTATYN ATHLETIC 1

DENBIGH TOWN U-13s 2

A SUPERB comeback performance ensured Denbigh Town U-13s claimed a vital win at a strong Prestatyn.

Denbigh were put under pressure in the opening 20 minutes and they fell behind to a long-range rocket shot that gave Town keeper Liam Roberts no chance.

Prestatyn held the lead until the second half, before Denbigh stepped up their game.

They equalised through Luke Molmans, who netted after a good team move.

Denbigh piled on the pressure and they had a golden opportunity to go ahead when they were awarded a penalty.

Charlie Smith saw his spot kick being excellently saved by the home keeper.

Denbigh didn't let their heads drop, though, and they deservedly took the lead when man of the match Kofi Halliday fired home the winner.

Town hit a third goal following a free kick, but the referee dubiously ruled it out for offside.

This Saturday sees Denbigh play their final league match.

They will host second-placed Bodelwyddan in a winner takes all title decider.
