SUMMER is here for members of Denbigh Golf Club.

A total of 110 members participated in the 23rd and final week of the club's winter league.

The outright winner was Peter Howland with a magnificent score of 42 points, which placed him very much in contention in the race to be crowned the overall winner.

Three members finished on 41 points, with Nigel Morris winning the silver division.

On the same score, Paul Smith won the bronze division, with Elfed Jones' tally of 41 points seeing him finish as the runner-up in the section.

Second in the silver division was Nigel Jones with 38 points.

Winning the overall team competition were Huw Parry, Elwyn Thomas and Adam Houston, ahead of Jac Roberts, Llew Davies and Mike Griffiths.

The individual winter league winner was Eifion Lloyd Jones.

Eifion spent much of his time in the upper echelons and it is a testimony to his consistency that in the 21 weeks when play was possible, he picked up points on 15 occasions.

His final score was 87 points, just one ahead of Llew Davies.

Marc Shaw had to settle for third place with a final total of 82 points.

The winter league was run superbly as always by Stan Roberts and his team.

All members are extremely grateful for the work he puts in making Denbigh Golf Club's winter league the envy of many local golf clubs.
