DENBIGH TOWN 1

HOLYWELL TOWN 3

RELEGATION now looms large for Denbigh Town following a midweek loss.

Relegation rivals Holywell Town took the Huws Gray Alliance spoils on Tuesday evening with their 3-1 success at Central Park.

This home defeat means Denbigh drop into the relegation zone and with one game left to play, they now need to depend on other teams around them dropping points.

Holywell took the lead on 22 minutes when Zebb Edwards' free kick was headed into the net by ex-Denbigh player Matty Hughes.

The Wellmen increased their lead a dozen minutes later when the referee awarded a penalty.

Damien Ketley slotted in the spot kick.

Another penalty was awarded a minute shy of the break and this one went in Denbigh's favour.

After Dan Lloyd was fouled, Kristian Pierce fired in the penalty.

The second half was nine minutes old when Holywell grabbed a key third goal.

Zebb Edwards picked the ball up just inside his half and having spotted Craig Vernon standing on the edge of his penalty area, he hit a wonderful long shot that had the keeper scampering back towards his line.

But he could not keep the ball out and the Wellmen had a comfortable cushion.
