DENBIGH TOWN U-13s 2
BODELWYDDAN 3
THERE was heartache for Denbigh Town U-13s when they lost their title decider at home to Bodelwyddan.
The visitors started with all guns blazing, but Denbigh created chances on the counter attack.
There were missed opportunities at both ends in the early stages, before Bodelwyddan struck twice, one of which was a scuffed shot that trickled in off the far post.
Denbigh kept their heads up and they were rewarded just before half-time when Luke Molmans pulled one back.
The second half saw some hard tackles go in and Bodelwyddan were fortunate when a terrible tackle on Kofi Halliday only resulted in a yellow card.
Halliday played no further part because of the seriousness of the injury and he was carried off the pitch.
Bodelwyddan hit a third goal midway through the second half and after Denbigh missed a couple of good chances, they were awarded a late penalty, which Paris Gray coolly slotted home.
Unfortunately, time was against Denbigh and they were unable to push on for the equaliser.
Despite the disappointment, it's still been a great season for the Denbigh players and they're still have a cup semi final to play against Prestatyn next Saturday.
