LLANGOLLEN 26-2

LLANRWST 25

IT was all done and dusted inside 20 overs.

Llangollen made a storming start to their North Wales Cricket League Division Four campaign courtesy of a comprehensive success at home to Llanrwst 2nds.

Llangollen won the toss and they didn't have to spend too long in the field after electing to bowl first.

Just 13.2 overs later, Llanrwst had been bowled out for 25.

The main contributor to the tally was extras, with seven, and each one of Llangollen's seven bowlers managed to pick up wickets.

They were shared by Tom Barry (2-1), Gareth Jones (2-1), Richard Hughes (2-6), Harry Paton (1-0), Arthur Jenkins (1-0), Daniel Davies (1-6) and Mark Davies (1-10).

The Llangollen target would have been to secure maximum points, but this didn't turn out to be the case as they lost two wickets during their reply.

Captain Tom King (12 not out) and Matthew Williams (10 not out) guided the hosts to a winning 26-2 in the sixth over.

Ethan Harborne (1-6) and Laura Nicholls (1-18) shared the wickets as Llangollen gained 14 points.
