Y FELINHELI 1

LLANNEFYDD 1

MISSING out on a three-point weekend haul means that the top-two hopes are over for Llannefydd.

Gwyndaf Pritchard's charges required victory from their weekend trip to Y Felinheli in order to keep alive their hopes of finishing in the top-two in Division Two of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League.

Although they battled back after conceding an early goal, Llannefydd couldn't bag a second and they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Ifan Eryr handed Y Felinheli the lead after seven minutes, with this strike being cancelled out by Ynyr Clwyd's effort 20 minutes later.

There was an exciting contest two days earlier as Llannefydd played host to title chasing Glan Conwy.

A topsy-turvy encounter ended up going 3-2 in Llan's favour in front of a large crowd.

An ideal start saw Llannefydd go 2-0 ahead inside the opening 10 minutes of the contest.

Sam Jones broke the deadlock in the first minute, before Jared Jones doubled the advantage in the eighth minute.

After this early shock, Glan Conwy settled down and they were right back in the contest when Connor Davies pulled a goal back after a quarter-of-anhour.

Ian Sinkinson struck seven minutes into the second half to level things up, before Ciran Jones' 65th minute effort sealed victory for Llannefydd.

Llannefydd are currently in third spot in the standings, but they will slip to fourth if Pwllheli win five of their remaining six matches.
