LLANRUG UNITED 5
LLANDYRNOG UNITED 1
THE season came to an end for Llandyrnog United with a 5-1 loss at Llanrug.
A succession of corners helped Llanrug to take the lead after five minutes.
Llion Jones' powerful header from one set piece made it 1-0.
This lead was short lived, though, and a brilliant strike had Llandyrnog level.
After a quarter-of-an-hour, David Clayton's sweetly struck effort from distance found the top corner of the net.
The remainder of the first half saw both teams go on to create a few half chances, with home keeper Dylan Roberts tipping the ball over the crossbar after half-an-hour.
A stoppage in play came on 39 minutes when Llandyrnog goalkeeper Daniel Jones landed awkwardly and required treatment before being substituted.
Llanrug upped the ante in the second half and were rewarded on 51 minutes as Llion Jones finished well.
Llandyrnog continued to create chances, but it was effectively game over when Gavin Jones made it 3-1 with 12 minutes remaining.
Jones added another three minutes later, while Carl Griffiths scored the fifth goal in stoppage time.
