YSCEIFIOG 2

LLANDYRNOG 2

IT was honour even as Ysceifiog and Llandyrnog began their campaign with a point apiece.

Tony Doyle's hosts found themselves ahead and behind over the course of the 90 minutes, but they continued to battle until the end to make sure they picked up a point.

A penalty award gave Ysceifiog the chance to take the lead.

This spot kick was duly tucked away by experienced campaigner Danny Jones.

Back came Llandyrnog before the interval, though, and Luke Humphreys' fine effort from 20 yards picked out the top corner of the net.

It was Humphreys at the double to see Jimmy McNally's side take the lead.

Another fine effort found the bottom corner of the net to leave the home keeper with no chance.

Llandyrnog were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of Chris Evans and Ysceifiog pressure eventually told when Aaron Flynn found the target.

Ysceifiog manager Tony Doyle said: "It was a great performance by all and we kept the pressure on until the end to get the draw."
