CEFN 2

CAERWYS 1

TWO goals in the opening half-an-hour helped to make sure Cefn's perfect start to the Summer League season continued.

However, things were by no means plain sailing for the defending champions and spirited visitors Caerwys made life tough for them during this Thursday evening tussle.

Owain Roberts set the ball rolling for Alun "Junior" Owen's hosts with his fine free kick goal in the 20th minute.

Things got even better for Cefn when Jake Walker doubled his side's advantage after half-an-hour.

Caerwys were far from being finished, though, and Joe Jones pulled a goal back 10 minutes into the second half.

Cefn managed to hold on to their advantage through until the final whistle, continuing their superb run of form in Summer League.

The result stretched their unbeaten run in the league to 27 matches and they have now won eight games on the bounce.

Showing how consistent Cefn have become, their last defeat in the Summer League came way back in June 2017.
