LLANFAIR 0
NANTGLYN 4
AFTER a brilliant opening week-and-a-half to the campaign, Summer League frontrunners Llanfair were brought back down to earth with a bump.
Clinical Nantglyn superbly ended Llanfair's unbeaten beginning to the season via a thumping 4-0 scoreline.
In an ideal start for the visitors, they took the lead inside the opening 10 minutes of the contest when a cross went straight into the net.
Llanfair responded and they won a penalty, but Huw Price was unable to find the back of the net with his attempt.
There was also a chance for the league's top scorer Llyr Morris, but Nantglyn went in at the break a goal to the good.
Things got even better for the away side when they doubled their tally some five minutes after the restart.
Llanfair pressed and pressed for a route back into the encounter, but Nantglyn broke twice to bag a further two goals and seal a superb success.
Their goals were netted by Dewi Williams, Dafydd Aled, Gwion Evans and Geraint Jones.
It's been a tough opening to the campaign for Nantglyn with matches versus expected title challengers, but a haul of six points at this stage sets them up nicely for the remainder of the season.
Llanfair boss Dylan Pugh said: "It's back down to earth, but we go again against Henllan on Tuesday."
