DOLGELLAU 2NDS 197-3

LLANGOLLEN 165

AN away day loss was the tale of the weekend for Llangollen.

The Dee Valley side paid a visit to Dolgellau 2nds in Division Four of the North Wales Cricket League.

Batting first did the trick for the Gwynedd outfit, who secured a 32-run margin of victory.

It was Llangollen who won the pre-match toss and they opted to spend the opening portion of the afternoon in the field.

However, wickets proved to be hard to come by and Dolgellau's 40 overs yielded 197-3.

James Bradbury-Willis (71 not out) and Richard Rees (57) were the chief scorers, with Tom King (2-40) and Bryn Sheppard (1-28) sharing the wickets for Llangollen.

There were plenty of decent efforts when it was Llangollen's turn to bat after tea.

Captain Tom King was the top scorer with 49, while support was supplied by the likes of James Jackson (36), Richard Hughes (29) and Mark Davies (11).

In the end, Llangollen were dismissed for 165 off the final ball of their innings.

Iwan Parry (4-17) and Morgan Yorke (3-34) were the star performers with the ball for Dolgellau.
