RHEWL 9
CAERWYS 1
APOLOGIES to Theo Woolford-Dyer and Ian Williams - we'll get to you later!
Rhys Hilditch certainly put his shirt on Rhewl defeating Caerwys during Tuesday evening's spot of Summer League action.
His moment came in the 87th minute when Rhewl were awarded a penalty.
The outcome wasn't in any doubt at that stage, with the hosts comfortably ahead 8-1, but Hilditch's celebrations after netting the penalty proved to be the moment of the night.
After picking out the top corner of the net, Hilditch wheeled away, took off his shirt and threw it into the air!
It was left to Ian Williams to give the shirt back to the penalty hero and it was a great end to what was a terrific night for Rhewl.
There were plenty of stars in the black-and-white of Rhewl, none more so than Theo Woolford-Dyer.
The former Llangynhafal player netted four times and he gave Rhewl the lead.
Caerwys weren't just there to make up the numbers, though, and they had some gilt-edged opportunities on the night.
A tidy finish from Joe Jones levelled things up, but Rhewl were soon back in front.
Tom Howatson's pinpoint cross was met with a powerful header from Ian Williams.
Williams became the provider for goal number three when he crossed for talented youngster George Mitchell to score his first ever senior goal.
The second half belonged to Rhewl and they were out of sight within five minutes of the restart.
Theo Woolford-Dyer made it 4-1 a minute into the second half with his strike from 20 yards and he completed his hat-trick a couple of minutes later.
On 56 minutes, Woolford-Dyer found the corner of the net for his fourth goal, while a terrific finish from Ian Williams extended his side's advantage a quarter-of-an-hour later.
Williams completed his hat-trick via another fine finish a quarter-of-an-hour from time, before Rhys Hilditch took centre stage with his late penalty and celebration.
