NANTGLYN 8
RHEWL 1
AFTER an unlucky 13 years, free scoring Nantglyn are on the hunt for the Summer League title once again.
Since claiming back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006, the top prize has eluded Nantglyn, but a thumping 8-1 Thursday night success versus Rhewl has moved them up to second spot, just a point behind frontrunners Llanrhaeadr.
With 21 goals, they are the Summer League's top scorers so far.
Leading the charge versus Rhewl was Geraint Jones, who grabbed four of his side's goals.
There was a hat-trick for Gruff Roberts and Nantglyn's remaining goal was netted by the impressive Lewys Jones.
Talented youngster George Mitchell supplied the Rhewl reply.
Rhewl boss Sion Roberts said: "They scored some great goals (and) on another night it could have been eight-all."
