DOLGELLAU 56-0

RUTHIN 55

A MAXIMUM points loss marked the weekend for Ruthin.

Travelling to Dolgellau seeking their first North Wales Cricket League Division One victory of the season, Ruthin instead suffered a heavy defeat.

Batting first at the Marian, Ruthin found themselves being dismissed for just 55 in 22.4 overs.

The innings did get off to a solid start, with openers Dafydd Roberts and Michael Parton putting together an 18-run partnership.

This stand came to an end when Roberts was bowled by Sion Francis (1-13), but it was Mark Edmondson who caused the majority of the damage.

He sent down 11.4 overs and finished up with a scintillating 6-29 return.

Parton (13) and William Jones (12) were the only Ruthin batsmen to reach double figures.

When it was their turn to bat, Dolgellau required fewer than 10 overs to achieve victory.

Greg Smithies (27 not out) and Sion Francis (17 not out) led Dolgellau to a winning 56-0 in 9.2 overs.
