NANTGLYN 1
CLAWDDNEWYDD 5
ONE of the Summer League's deadliest strike-forces managed to end Nantglyn's hopes of acquiring the Summer League leadership.
With Llanrhaeadr being held by Caerwys, a Nantglyn victory at home to Clawddnewydd on Thursday evening would have seen them claim pole position.
However, the deadly pairing of Tirion Griffiths and Jordan MacCarter ended these hopes by guiding Mark Lewis' charges to an excellent 5-1 win on their travels.
The duo now have 14 goals between them this season and the success saw Clawdd climb to seventh in the standings.
Griffiths bagged four goals on the night to take his tally for the campaign up to 10 goals, while MacCarter was on the scoresheet once.
Gruff Roberts' seventh goal of the season supplied Nantglyn with their only bright spot on the night.
