LLANFAIR 1

IT'S all change at the top of the Summer League rankings.

With frontrunners Llanrhaeadr having the night off, defending champions Cefn secured the three points that took them back into first place.

They saw off the challenge of Llanfair 5-1 to gather a magnificent seventh success of the summer.

Llanfair manager Dylan Pugh described the outcome as "a bit" harsh.

"We were on top until they scored their first," he added.

It proved to be a terrific night for Jake Walker and he gave Cefn the lead in the 20th minute.

It was Walker at the double to extend the advantage 10 minutes later, before Jared Jones made it 3-0 with 10 minutes of the first half remaining.

Cefn lost a three-goal lead during a recent meeting with Rhewl, but there wasn't any danger of that happening again and the three points were in the bag when Walker completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute.

Llanfair pulled a goal back through Chris Hardy, but the final word went the way of Cefn, with Walker scoring his fourth goal in the 65th minute.

This took Walker's tally for the season up to 14 goals, just one shy of leading marksman Llyr Morris.

Cefn had a great opportunity to add to their tally, but Llanfair keeper Llyr Williams made a terrific save from a penalty.
